Covering You in Prayer: A Mama’s Daily Offering

Every day, before the sun fully rises… I pray for you.

Sometimes it’s whispered while you’re still asleep in my arms.
Other times, it’s spoken through tears during those long, tired nights.
But always—it’s from the depths of a mother’s heart that knows her strength alone isn’t enough.

You see, I can feed you, hold you, sing to you, and rock you.
But only God can keep you.
Only He can go before you.
Only He can shape the unseen parts of who you’re becoming.

So I pray.

I pray over your tiny body—from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.
That you’ll grow strong and healthy, covered by God’s protection.
That your hands will serve others and your feet will follow the path of righteousness.

I pray for your heart—so tender, so new.
That it will be rooted in kindness and guided by truth.
That you’ll know, from the earliest age, what it feels like to be deeply loved—by me, yes, but even more so by the One who formed you.

I pray over your mind.
That it will be full of wonder, curiosity, and wisdom beyond your years.
That no lie of the world will take root—only the truth of who you are in Christ.

I pray for your future.
Your friendships.
Your voice.
Your faith.
The moments you’ll struggle. The moments you’ll soar.
The purpose God has already spoken over your life, even now in infancy.

And I pray for me too.

That I’ll be the kind of mother who doesn't just protect you—but prepares you.
That I’ll be patient and full of grace.
That I’ll stay close to Jesus so I can lead you there, too.
That my daily prayers will create a covering of love and faith you’ll feel, even when you don’t have words for it yet.

Because this is more than motherhood—this is ministry.
You are not just my baby—you are my daily reminder that God entrusts His greatest treasures to ordinary hands like mine.

So every day, I will pray.
And when you’re older, I’ll still be praying.
Because love doesn’t stop—it just grows deeper.
And prayer? It’s the thread that will always connect us.
